Piano
Joshua Jenkins has over 20 years of experience as a musician, piano being his first love. Starting at the age of 7, he studied under Dr. Clarence Koch, where he began his background in classical and liturgical music. Josh then continued to attend Duke Ellington School of the Arts in the instrumental music department, studying with Dr. Haewon Moon and continuing his growth in classical repertoire and advanced music theory. This continued education allowed him to audition and get accepted into James Madison University's Steinway Music Program, where he studied with Dr. Lori Piitz.
In 20-plus years, Joshua formed a diverse background, performing with various musical artists and celebrities such as Earth Wind & Fire, Victoria Monet, and at prestigious venues such as The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and The White House.
Joshua's wide range of musical experience will allow students to harness their artistic expression and technical proficiency. He believes life is about balance and that outside experiences shape who you become as a musician and person, so he encourages all his students to find hobbies outside of music, such as sports and chess!
