Cash Allain began playing music at the age of four, starting with piano before switching to guitar at ten. He has been playing ever since, dedicating three years to practice up to eight hours a day. In high school, Cash joined the marching band to play bass guitar, which is how he first learned the instrument at age fourteen. His dedication to practicing earned him a $10,000 scholarship to the University of New Haven, where he performed with the marching band.

While in college, Cash played in numerous jazz ensembles, churches, and marching band events, as well as his own shows with an indie rock band. He also recorded and released a country song on streaming platforms. Cash worked with a guitar teacher named Mike, who inspired him to discover the creativity and endless rewards of music. That experience fueled his passion for studying and exploring music in all his free time, a habit he continues today. He currently listens to at least three new albums daily to continually expand his artistic and professional horizons.

Cash began teaching because he wanted to play guitar constantly and share how incredible and expressive the instrument can be. He enjoys all genres and artists, and is especially interested in bossa nova, noise rock, and the New York no wave scene from the 1970s. Since the age of fourteen, he has performed in bars and on streets, experiences that eventually led to jazz ensembles, church gigs, and shows at smaller venues in New Haven.

Cash wants every one of his students to understand the power and depth of music, and to embrace the idea that everyone is always learning. He believes this approach helps make music theory and technique easier to understand. He provides personalized notes and tablature for his students, either written out or sent by email, depending on their preference.
